If you have a showy garden that you’d like to highlight, choose a paint color that will do it justice. For instance, architect Kelly Haegglund chose a bright green door (see first image), because “it’s modern, and a complement to the greens and purples in the garden.” And I’ve noticed that darker house colors often make the colors in a garden pop. 7. But white will never be a bad choice. Above: For this house in Connecticut, Brooklyn’s O’Neill Rose Architects used low-luster Benjamin Moore Brilliant White, which principal Devin O’Neill calls “a standard that always looks good.” The firm worked with Donald Kaufman on the palette for the house and chose Donald Kaufman Color DKC-44 in semi-gloss for the porch and ceiling. At times, a delicate armoire or bookcase can add complexity and cost to move or work around during a paint job. Likewise, make sure to communicate any delicate items in the dining room or around your home that can easily break before the job begins with the painting service you hire.
As a rule of thumb, closets and nook areas are usually not included in painting quotes unless you request them specifically.
Ensuring your home’s exterior looks freshly painted is possible with a bit of maintenance work. Keep the exterior clean with an annual power washing, regularly prune landscaping trees or shrubbery that could scratch or scrape the exterior, and touch up any damaged areas immediately. Avoid clogged gutters and downspouts as the overflow of water can damage a home’s exterior.

Replacing vinyl siding costs $3 to $11 per square foot for siding too worn or damaged to paint.
We’re currently flipping a house from the late 60s. We stripped popcorn ceilings ourselves in the entire house, re-textured every ceiling and wall, replaced all of the trim, and repainted every surface. We painted the ceilings with a roller extension- it was by far my least favorite part of renovations so far- so much easier if you do it before flooring is in though! I can’t wait to see more posts on the house! Such a neat project! Emily @ Life on Food February 25, 2015
Latex paint, also known as water-based paint, dries faster and is more environmentally friendly than oil-based paint.

Loving the exterior colours. Along with the cornices it makes those '80's pine log houses look brand new.
Ruben painted two of my bedrooms and the outside of my house. They painted both my rot-iron gates and both security doors. All my stucco repair was completed. They did a great job inside and out. I highly recommend them.
Mobile homes cost from $4,144 to $11,840 to paint. The U.S. Census Bureau pegs the average sale price of a single-wide mobile home at $57,700, which means that a high-quality paint job averaging $11,840 would represent more than 20 percent of the original purchase price of the house. Fortunately, the vinyl-on-gypsum wall panels inside the average manufactured home are easy to paint, which means it might be more beneficial to go with a painter that charges by the hour rather than by the square foot.
Painting your home is an investment in the future but also an investment in the pleasure you will have today and tomorrow.
No two interior paint jobs will be alike. It is important to analyze the overall state of your space before you get started. If you are painting your ceiling, trim, and baseboards, there’s a chance you may need to take a few extra steps to prepare your space. This includes removing popcorn ceiling 4, moving furniture away from the walls, repairing drywall, and cleaning your baseboards and trim. You may also want to have doors painted and windows caulked, adding a bit more to your overall project.
Multiply the length by the width by the height of the room, then subtract windows, doors and cabinets as those will not require paint (l x w), add or subtract the ceilings, trim, and baseboards (dependent on if you want them painted).
So is there a formula that links home size to the cost of a paint job? Opinions differ. First, measure the exterior square footage of your home and multiply it by the height of your home, from the ground to the roof line. Subtract windows and doors you don’t plan to paint if you feel like getting fancy. You can also subtract window trims if you plan on painting them with an accent color.
