I enjoy working at Kelly Brothers Painting. They treat everyone like family. They have given me the opportunity to grow not only as a painter but as a person. Great place to work at.
Homeowners are more likely to tackle an interior paint job themselves than to take the DIY route for an exterior paint job. That, plus the cost of the paint itself, means that an interior paint job is generally cheaper than an exterior one. And it can be a great way to refresh your space without buying all new furniture or making more costly and time-consuming renovations. .

7. Clean up. Pick up any drop cloths you laid out before you started working. Rinse the paint out of your brushes and rollers. Clean out the buckets you used to carry your tools and the pans holding the paint.
In other words, house painting can just as easily enhance your home decorating style as it can cramp it - the difference is all in how you do it.

Safety is an important component of painting the exterior of your home. To ensure things proceed smoothly and with the utmost precautions in mind, equipment rentals are necessary. The less expensive option of the two is scaffolding which can be rented on a per-day basis for a nominal fee. For more extensive jobs, many companies opt to secure a boom lift which can be rented for an average cost of $1,000 for the week.
If you are hiring professional painters to paint your house interior, you’re likely wondering how often your walls, ceilings, and trim should be painted. While the most popular reason for interior painting is to update the colors of a room, another good reason is for general upkeep to ensure your home always looks great.

Though low-quality paint does offer some cost savings, the reduced cost is really only deferred. Cheaper paints are not designed to last, meaning fading, chipping, and damage can occur in a minimal amount of time, necessitating the house being painted again.

We reach out to you before we even start so we can ask questions, talk about your design preferences, and discuss your goals for the project.
Eggshell paint is the most popular exterior paint finish for the body of a home. Because eggshell isn’t dull like a flat finish, or too shiny like a high-gloss sheen, it looks great on a variety of siding types such as HardiePlank, stucco, horizontal wood, and others. Eggshell paint also offers more durability than flat paint, so it can easily be washed with occasional power washing. It’s also an ideal choice when you need to hide imperfections under the coating on older wood or stucco divots. Eggshell can also protect your home from precipitation and seasonal weather changes. This popular paint finish lays down nicely, so you won’t be able to see any brush strokes, roller edges, or spray marks after applying.

In the same way, it’s wise to include the drive time spent picking up test patches, supplies, and paint. Certainly, all of these tasks add up over a weekend dedicated to painting the house. Before long, it’ll be Sunday night and you’re only halfway through the first room. Looking for a painting company in Saint Louis or St Louis County? Another huge factor to consider, of course, is the cost of the paint! Some contractors will offer you a specific set of colors and/ or products that are already included in their price and fees. Others will require you to buy your own paint upfront, it really just depends on who you go through.
Is black the new neutral? Black houses are certainly on the rise, and there’s no denying their chic appeal. But you may want to consider these cons before crossing over to the dark side: First, black houses absorb more heat from the sun than white houses. And black fades faster than lighter colors. For a full analysis, see Black Houses: The Pros and Cons of a Dark Painted Facade. 9. Selling your house? Consider a dark door. For instance, two white houses next to each other could make one look faded than the other, depending on the intensity of the color used.

The next option was using oil based primer. That stuff is not fun to work with. The fumes are not fun to work around (be sure to open windows!), and you can’t wash it off without using more chemicals. Fortunately somebody suggested we try bleaching the stains, which sounded a bit more feasible and manageable. So we tried it. Dawning coveralls and face masks, and armed with a pump garden sprayer filled with diluted bleach (mostly water with a couple capfuls of bleach), we attacked the stains. After a couple spray downs, the yellow started to disappear! For a couple of days, we misted the ceiling, waited a couple hours and repeated. Most stains were taken care of, the rest were dissolved enough to prime over.
