The prep work is meticulous, they carefully protect surfaces not meant to be painted, including my beautiful Cordyline plants that touch the wall. They even taped plastic over my cement floor backyard. The quality of the work is great, I don't see any flaws in the paint job, and the paint is quick drying with no overwhelming paint smell. They fixed any minor flaws with the surfaces, applying patches and re-stuccoing as needed. My house looks new again!
Learn to “dial back” a strong color like the pros. Many of our customers initially say they are eager to infuse their homes with color, but lose their confidence mid-way through the selection process. They fear that even warm, inviting colors like pumpkin-coral or meadow green will overpower a wall and fall back on a “safe choice” in the off-white/beige/deep ivory family. This is fine – unless it leaves you yearning for the warmer color you sought in the first place. In this case, try confining a splash of color to one wall – the dominant wall – or choosing a lighter shade (or two) of the same color. .
In addition, a painting estimate will include lead paint testing for houses built before 1978. According to EPA, the owner of such a building must hire appropriately licensed and certified painters, who follow lead-safe work practices that prevent lead contamination.
Paint sheen is not just about aesthetics. Paint finishes affect how long exterior paint lasts on siding, trim, doors, and other exterior surfaces. I hired three brothers to come out for three days to paint my entire condo top to bottom with new paint on the walls. Oscar gave me a professional estimate with a great bottom line price for the work. The crew worked FAST, were polite and careful with all my stuff. The quality of their work exceeded my expectations and I’m extremely happy with the work. My place looks BRAND NEW! Thanks Three Brothers!!

Rub the paste onto the mark with a sponge to work it in, then wipe clean with a new cloth and clean water.
I’ve been painting homes for over 15 years and I think you’ve nailed it: PREPPING. Most DIY’ers and home owners have little to no knowledge about the amount of time and cost it takes to prepare a project prior to painting. Your Article did a Great job in explaining some of the procedures that are necessary for a truly professional paint job. All to often the prepping is weak or non existing. As you pointed out, covering badly stained walls or ceilings with a coat of Kiln is probably not enough. Just wondering how many hours were spent in the prepping of your project? Great details and information. House Painting NY April 07, 2021

Homeowners who want one or more rooms finished during a single painting job can benefit from estimating the cost on the number of rooms and size of the rooms being painted. As a general rule of thumb, it will cost anywhere from $250 to $400 per room to have them painted; however, the more rooms you need painted in a single job, the less the cost per room will be in the end. For example, if you have 5 bedrooms that need painting in a single job, you will pay less per room than if you had only 1 bedroom that needed to be painted. It is therefore more cost effective to have multiple rooms painted in a single job, since you will save money in the long run.
Painting interior walls averages $1.50 to $3.50 per square foot. Standard baseboards cost $1.00 to $1.50 per linear foot. Square footage is calculated by multiplying length in feet by height in feet (remember there are four walls in a room), then subtracting window and door space. Doors and window frames average about $60each. Many projects will require a primer and some will require a primer and two coats of paint. One gallon of paint covers about 400 square feet. Paint and labor are not the only costs. Masking tape, brushes and other items add some cost. In some areas there may be permit or inspection fees.
