Beautiful work! They painted the cleanest lines for all rooms, which included baseboards, crown molding and really rough texture.I 100% recommend Kelly Brothers!
Painting trim allows for a more professional and cheaper way to paint vs doing the walls and trim separately. Trim painting costs are determined by measuring linear footage and is dependent on the amount of trim and the size of the room. The cost per linear foot is $1.05 – $2.60 to paint the trim in a house.

Some of these pre-painting tasks include moving furniture away from the walls, covering furniture and flooring, taping off areas, removing knobs and other hardware if you’re painting cabinets, filling holes in drywall, and cleaning them. It’s a good idea to clear away pictures, vases, and other knick-knacks, so they don’t get in the painters’ way as they work. Plus, this ensures your belongings stay safe.
Once you’ve painted your room, it’s tempting to start applying a second coat of paint. Don’t! Make sure your coat is completely dry before adding any additional coats. To help expedite the drying process, open up windows for air flow. You’ll be surprised that winter air will improve drying times.
Awesome post! I just wanted to add a couple tips about cleaning brushes that might be helpful. If you’re painting and are coming back for second coats later the same day, you can put your brush in a ziplock bag to keep it from drying out while you’re taking a break. When cleaning your brushes, use Murphy Oil Soap, it really helps to get the paint off and is eco friendly. You can even soak brushes in it and clean them later on if you’re a giant procrastinator like I am 🙂 I love following your progress with this house and am so stoked to see the finished product! Similar to adding ceilings, painting the trim makes for easier touch-ups and straighter lines where walls and trim meet. Painting the trim also allows for a full seal of any gaps or cracks that exist.
Less furniture means less time spent moving and covering items in your rooms. Accordingly, this means a cost savings of a few hundred dollars per floor you choose to paint.

FORESTVILLE — Lee Dido started painting professionally right out of high school and hasn’t looked back since. “After graduating high school, I was offered a job painting houses at $7 an hour, and I took it,” he recounts. “Working for a general contractor, I did other aspects of construction as well, but painting was what I enjoyed most and really excelled at, so I decided to focus on it. By the time I was 28, I’d started my own company.”
