Painting a home’s exterior is a fast, affordable way to dramatically change its appearance. Paint can be applied to almost any siding, so it’s a versatile option too. On wood and fiber cement siding, paint is more than just aesthetic. It also protects the siding from moisture damage. The downside of painting is that it must be repeated every three to ten years depending on climatic conditions where you live and the type of siding beneath. The upside is that it really freshens up a home and gives you the opportunity to change its look more frequently than with other exterior options.

I’ll be remembering the bleach trick for stained ceilings – the previous owner of my house was also a smoker, and I’m hoping the staining wasn’t so bad that it will seep through as we just painted straight over.
However, there are a few factors that you must consider when it comes to calculating the price per square foot to paint an interior space. In some cases, you may need a primer 1 first, then the paint, meaning that you may need one gallon of primer and one gallon of paint to cover 400 sq.ft. However, if the wall requires multiple coats, this increases the total amount of square footage required and the amount of paint.
Painting wood siding costs $1 to $4 per square foot or $1,700 to $6,800 on average. Repainting wood siding typically falls at the lower end of the price range because only spot priming is required. Wood siding may need a complete primer coat if the new color is lighter than the existing one.
One gallon of any BEHR paint is enough to cover between 250 to 400 square feet of surface area with one coat.
Given that an average worker can prepare approximately 50 square feet of wall surface and paint about 150 feet per hour, preparing and painting 2,000 square feet will take around 54 hours. If you multiply 54 hours by $40, which is the average cost per hour for house painting or staining in Florida, it will cost you $2,160 to paint 2,000 square feet of wall surface. Now, if you factor in the cost of the primer and paint, a fair painting estimate should range somewhere between $2,500 and $3,000, with one coat of primer and paint. There is also a section that gives prices for different projects, depending on the part of the house that is painted.
Miguel's crew is awesome. Our house looks like a new house. We are so happy we picked Kelley Bros painting. They took special care with our new concrete and took alot of pride in their work. No mess. We highly recommend them.
I'm having the interior painted one color. I am paying $ 1900 to have all common rooms painted, not including bedrooms. I have a two story house and the living room has 20 foot tall walls. The price we charged for painting the stucco wall around the back of the house was $1700. The approximate square footage of the wall was 3000. The cost per square foot was $0.56. This was a brand new stucco that was applied to the wall just a couple of month ago and the wall did not need any repairs at all. The above price included pressure washing, masking, priming and painting. Since painting of the perimeter walls usually requires very little in terms of the prep work, that is the reason for low per square foot price.
Painting the interior of an apartment can cost anywhere between $1,500 and $4,800. Many people living in apartments are renting, which can make it feel like there are limited options when it comes to redecorating. However, most landlords will be fine with you painting your apartment as long as you change it back before you move out.
Whether you’re doing a few bedrooms or the entire first floor, the type of room being painted can determine what you can expect to pay. If you are in the Chicagoland area, learn more about what it costs to paint a room in Chicago.
I had the exterior of my house painted by Lance, Israel, and Alejandro from ACP painting. They did a fantastic job. Walked the job with me each day and made sure I was happy with the work. Great group of guys to work with.
Some rooms simply have more detail and require more specialty painting including cabinetry, molding, multiple colors, faux finishes, wallpaper removal, etc.
Start to finish, from estimate to cleanup, they did an excellent job. I couldn't be happier. The crew was on time, worked diligently, were neat, cooperative, friendly and helpful. Based on my experience, I heartily recommend Kelly Bros.
