Dear I.S. Thank you for requesting a painting estimate from House Painting Inc. Unfortunately, we are not able to do the job at… more
As a general rule of thumb, newer homes involve much less prep work to start painting the exterior. New construction will already be on even ground and won’t have anything obstructing the sides so that it will be less time consuming and cheaper. The painters will be able to come on the site right after the exterior construction is complete.

You can pair Behr’s Polar Bear with a dusty blue shutter or siding color for a classic yet contemporary farmhouse color palette. Similarly, it looks great on board and batten siding styles as well. And if there isn’t a Sherwin or Ben Moore paint store nearby, this off-white neutral home color can be found at Home Depot.
Where this gray paint shines is when you have decorative exposed brick or stone with cooler undertones on your home. Oftentimes, it’s rare to find a gray paint color that coordinates with these elements. Pewter Gray is the perfect deep cooler-toned exterior shade for the job. Combine this gray tone with wood accents and a dark blue or brown front door for a gorgeous modern exterior color palette.

Doors and frame painting is not generally included in the major painting job. This is because of two major things: the doors require more durable semi-gloss or satin paint as they last longer and can be washed.
These are just a handful of the factors we take into consideration when pricing interior painting for our customers. This is why when customers sometimes ask our “Price per Square foot,” the answer isn’t always that simple. We provide custom painting proposals that fit your home exactly, as opposed to just applying a cookie cutter price and hoping it fits the job.
Ruben did an amazing job for my room. I contacted him and he came the next day and got the job done within a few hours. I accidentally painted my room like crap and he made it look completely brand new.
We had a terrible experience with a previous local paint company so we decided to go with Kelly Brothers Painting for our next project. The first time we had Justo and his team they were amazing. They painted our house exterior. We were so happy we used them again to paint our commercial building. That was not an easy job but again Justo and his team came through. We have had so many compliments on both our home and our building. We called again for some interior paint work and Miguel was our foreman. Again I was very satisfied, so much so that we continued with more interior work. Each team that has come out has been superior. They pay close attention to details. It is so nice to do business with such a reputable company.
Safety is key in any house painting project. Two- (or more) story homes can pose a safety risk for inexperienced DIY painters with inadequate tools to complete the painting work safely. A DIY paint project is no longer worthwhile if you accidentally topple off a ladder.
The material of your home’s exterior dictates your overall house painting approach. This includes taking care of repairs and calculating the amount of paint needed. For example, does your aluminum siding have dents or excessive “chalking” (a powdery coating)? Is your vinyl siding buckling? How much paint will you need for porous surfaces such as brick or stucco? Understanding the potential challenges upfront will aid in your decision about who will do the painting work.
I agree completely — never paint over wallpaper! My house is very old and the original owners had wallpaper (layer upon layer) in every room in the house — even the bathrooms. Then the last owner painted over the wallpaper. Yikes! What a mess. So glad most of it is gone but it was a chore. Thanks for the great tips to painting the house. Quality tools are key (and patience). Skylar Mitchell February 25, 2015
It looks nice but I am so sad you all covered all the original trim when it looked like all it needed was a sanding and restain 🙁 Jamie February 25, 2015
