As for actually using the sprayer, the main thing to remember is to not overcoat with paint. Two or three quick passes will minimize drippage as opposed to trying to get a full coat on all at once. (Which I learned the hard way. The first room I painted was so drippy droppy, we had to do some extra sanding once it dried. I felt so bad!) Only by actually using the sprayer will you get a method down. By the time I was done with the sprayer, I felt like a pro and actually had fun painting!

They did a great job on my house! They were very clean and did a great job repairing the stucco defects that I had. Their price was very competitive and they were on time with completion of my job. I highly recommend them!
Because calculating the cost of an interior paint job is a bit more difficult, here are the factors that are taken into account: prep work, paint and supplies, trim and molding, windows and doors, unique textures, and labor. Let’s take a look at each factor individually:
While tipping house painters is neither expected nor required, you may want to do so, especially if they exceeded your expectations in any way or went above and beyond for the job. How much? Some advocate tipping 15 to 2o percent, but on a $5,000 bill, that adds up to a whole lot. I like this advice I found in a Washington Post story better: It recommends a $10 to $20 tip, plus a glowing online review. “Even better than a tip, however, would be to give the painter a positive review on Yelp, HomeAdvisor or similar websites. And consider providing breakfast (coffee and doughnuts) or a pizza lunch for the crew.”
Given that an average worker can prepare approximately 50 square feet of wall surface and paint about 150 feet per hour, preparing and painting 2,000 square feet will take around 54 hours. If you multiply 54 hours by $40, which is the average cost per hour for house painting or staining in Florida, it will cost you $2,160 to paint 2,000 square feet of wall surface. Now, if you factor in the cost of the primer and paint, a fair painting estimate should range somewhere between $2,500 and $3,000, with one coat of primer and paint. A longtime resident of Sonoma County, Lee expresses his fondness for the flavor of Bay Area life. “From the weather to the food and culture, I love the lifestyle we have in the North Bay. I’ve been to a lot of places and nothing is quite like it.”
Start to finish, from estimate to cleanup, they did an excellent job. I couldn't be happier. The crew was on time, worked diligently, were neat, cooperative, friendly and helpful. Based on my experience, I heartily recommend Kelly Bros.
ALLBRiGHT 1-800-PAINTING has a special program called Painter For A Day. This is a low-risk and cost-efficient way to see how we work. We can typically paint a couple of bedrooms in a day and sometimes a little more for a flat rate.
It is also important to know the season your newly-acquired home was painted since the weather condition when your house was painted can change how well the paint dried.
It is very difficult to determine how a particular color will look on your walls, and with your lighting. If you have a color in mind, it is a good idea to buy a sample.
If you have a showy garden that you’d like to highlight, choose a paint color that will do it justice. For instance, architect Kelly Haegglund chose a bright green door (see first image), because “it’s modern, and a complement to the greens and purples in the garden.” And I’ve noticed that darker house colors often make the colors in a garden pop. 7. But white will never be a bad choice. Above: For this house in Connecticut, Brooklyn’s O’Neill Rose Architects used low-luster Benjamin Moore Brilliant White, which principal Devin O’Neill calls “a standard that always looks good.” The firm worked with Donald Kaufman on the palette for the house and chose Donald Kaufman Color DKC-44 in semi-gloss for the porch and ceiling. Tricorn Black (SW 6258) by Sherwin Williams is another popular color, traditionally used for doors and shutters as an exterior accent. These days, black exteriors are trending and Tricorn Black is a modern choice for a house body or siding color. Indeed, painting your house black can be an option for more contemporary home styles.
Painting can be one of the easier building trades to get into because you probably don’t need a license. Here in Florida, most work that doesn’t involve structural components of a house doesn’t require a license.
Note that you will need fewer coats with top-quality paints, in order to lower the total price of the painting job. Typically, plan for about $200 to $500, with all paint and supplies, to have a professional finish in a 12 by 12 room.
At New Leaf Painting, we have the unheard-of 10-year material and labor warranty*. However, if you are not interested in the 10-year warranty*, We offer all our customers a 2-year warranty on ALL work performed in writing. This will save you a few hundred dollars.
For instance, two white houses next to each other could make one look faded than the other, depending on the intensity of the color used.
