Interior paints come in five different finishes: flat, eggshell, satin, semi-gloss, and high gloss. High-gloss paints cost more, but are great for kitchens and bathrooms and are easier to clean. Flat or eggshell sheens are best for bedrooms, halls, and living rooms and hide flaws better than glossier paints.
Thank you for sharing these tips, Josh! My boyfriend and I are about to embark on a major re-design of our condo and I am not looking forward to all the painting prep work. It does make a huge difference if you do it right though! Stacia February 25, 2015

We’re currently flipping a house from the late 60s. We stripped popcorn ceilings ourselves in the entire house, re-textured every ceiling and wall, replaced all of the trim, and repainted every surface. We painted the ceilings with a roller extension- it was by far my least favorite part of renovations so far- so much easier if you do it before flooring is in though! I can’t wait to see more posts on the house! Such a neat project! Emily @ Life on Food February 25, 2015

If you’re planning on painting the interior, it will cost between $12,000 and $16,000. For the exterior, you can expect to pay between $7,000 and $15,000. If you want to get both jobs done at once, the price ranges from $19,000 to $31,000 to paint the entire house.
When you have the square footage, divide it by 350, which is the amount of square feet that a gallon of paint can cover on average. But consider it may vary between 250 and 400 square feet. A gallon of primer can cover 200 square feet on average, so if you want to know how much you’ll need, simply divide the interior square footage by 200.
Superior painters did a great job from start to finish on my rental property. They delivered what they said they would, and when they would do it..(allowing for the odd lock down). I have no issues using superior painters again or recommending them.
