Lastly, store your leftover paint in a safe place for future touch ups! The cold weather can be the perfect time for a fresh coat of paint.
To give you some more insight, let’s look into each painting surface type and the considerations when coming up with a cost for each.
Satin and eggshell are popular choices for exterior painting because they hide surface imperfections better than higher gloss paints and are more durable and easier to clean than matte.
For the rest of us, Tricorn Black can add a touch of sophistication as a coordinating exterior trim, window, front door, gutter, or shutter color. This color really pairs well with off-whites like Pure White or Rarified Air (SW 6258).
When you’re getting your home interior professionally painted, the size of the job plays a huge role in determining your costs.
Completing an entire apartment top to bottom in 1 day? Not really - unless you have a small army of painters to help you.
Another huge factor to consider, of course, is the cost of the paint! Some contractors will offer you a specific set of colors and/ or products that are already included in their price and fees. Others will require you to buy your own paint upfront, it really just depends on who you go through.
The Kelly Brothers crew did an outstanding job painting the interior of our house. The entire experience from estimate to completion was outstanding. We strongly recommend them.
Once you have the interior square footage calculated, experts say you’ll want to divide by 350. 350 square feet is the average coverage of a gallon of paint (though some say 250-400 square feet). The average coverage for a gallon of primer is 200 square feet. Your square footage divided by 350 square feet gets you the number of gallons of paint you’ll need. Square footage divided by 200 gets you the number of gallons of primer you’ll need. You can save money by ensuring you don’t buy too much paint.
Painting the exterior of a 600 square-foot tiny home can be a much easier task than taking on a 3,000 square-foot, two-story home. Take your home’s size into account as you assess the home painting project’s time and labor.
When it comes to painting your home, it’s important to think about the interior and exterior as a single unit. While your interior does not need to be a perfect match for your exterior, there should be a sense of harmony. To choose your exterior colors, think about your style of home and the color of your roof, railings 2, and doors.
