This post couldn’t come at a better time! We are about to reprint our lounge after our toddler decided to do little Picasso crayon drawings on the walls, and discovering that the painter and decorator used the cheapest paint, it comes off with even a baby wipe! My top tip would be to use the most expensive paint you can afford, the cheap stuff just doesn’t hold up to day to day life with mucky little toddlers, this time I’m getting the Scrub proof paint! Average-sized townhouses cost between $4,813 and $13,750 to paint. A townhouse may have two or three floors and often sports a rather narrow width compared to traditional single-family homes. Painting the exterior of a two-story or three-story structure usually costs more because it takes extra effort to reach the top floors. Still, one of the perks of living in a townhouse is that the exterior only includes the front and the back since the sides are shared walls with other townhouses. Shared walls may offset the added labor cost required to paint the upper stories.

Whether you match the color to your home’s style or personality, the correct paint sheen will need to be based on the surface of your home. For example, Sherwin-Williams recommends a satin sheen for trims and a flat, matte finish for siding.

When it comes to painting your home, it’s important to think about the interior and exterior as a single unit. To choose your exterior colors, think about your style of home and the color of your roof, railings 2, and doors.

On the other hand, I might just go to the Bahamas and kick back for a while.” A: Probably seeing my father play music years ago. The method employed to paint the exterior will also affect the final cost to change the color of your home. Though spraying paint on siding is an efficient means of painting an exterior, it can be very messy and also involves the use of thin paint which is often lesser in quality, meaning it may not be as durable as other types of painting. Brushes and rollers are also popular options and offer less mess and greater consistency in the finished product.
