I hired a painting company to paint my house and garage. Price was about $5,000.Sherwin Williams paint T-1000. When he was questioned about the paint peeling two days after he painted the garage he quit even with a contract not a very professional person. So,now I have to find someone else to paint my house. After 3 weeks of them trying to paint around the rain. The original time frame was 3-4 days.Yes 3 weeks and all that got done was a small two car garage that could have been done in two days.I know he did not prep correctly and properly I will end up having to redo the garage. I went to Sherwin Williams and got the colors. So beware even with a contract and good references. Can't say enough good things about these painters. Mr. Lee's team of O, Jeff, and Chris were exceptional. They started the exterior painting with prep on Saturday and finished including touch ups on Thursday. Well worth it. The house looks amazing with neighbors stopping to ask for their information.
A 1,000 sq.ft. home generally consists of two bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room, and a blended dining room and kitchen. If you’re planning on painting the interior of your home, you can expect to pay anywhere from $3,000 to $4,000. An exterior paint job for the same size house costs between $1,500 to $3,500. With that being said, the typical cost of painting a house--both inside and out--costs between $4,500 and $7,500.
The good news is that when spotted early, bruises and damages are not difficult to repair. If addressed by a professional, these damages will not reappear.
It is very difficult to offer general estimates for exterior painting. The price depends on so many factors, including the size and home, the condition of the siding, the number of years since the home was last painted, geographic location and the experience of the company.
On average, it costs between $6,000 to $8,000 to paint the interior of a 2,000 sq.ft. house. Prices can vary based on how many coats of paint you need to add to each room in your home and if you need any custom paint jobs done.

The first line item “Ceilings”- You will first need the floor square footage of your home. One can find this easily on Zillow. Put your address in an BOOM it will give you your square footage. Just remember that this will not include garage square footage so if your painting your garage measure Length x Width of garage and include. Once you have your square footage most painters charge anywhere from $.75 – $2.00 per square foot to paint ceilings. $.75 per foot would be an easy 1 coat single level home with no drywall repair. $2.00 per foot would be a difficult 2 story vaulted ceilings with a little drywall repair. Example- ( 1,500 sq ft home X $1.25 per square ft (average)= $1,875.00) this would include labor and materials.
Painting your home is like buying a car (but hopefully not that expensive!) or buying new furniture. Not only does an awesome paint job say a lot about you, but it’s also a big investment that deserves a lot of consideration. Just like buying a car, you typically get what you pay for—so you want to consider a few factors going into it—like who the manufacturer is (the paint), who made it (the painter), and what condition it is in (the prep).
It sounds like a line from The Lion King but it’s true. To make sure your painting surfaces are as dry as possible, start in the area that the sun hits first in the morning.
In addition to home size, other major cost factors involve the height of your rooms, and ease of access. For example, painting interior stairways with higher ceilings or rooms with lofted ceilings can increase the price by 20% – 40%.
The paint itself is another factor that will affect price, but you can calculate how much. There are different price points for paint depending on the brand of your choice, so make sure you choose one that’s one your price range. When you go to the hardware store, let the staff know what your budget is and they will help you find the right brand to suit your needs.
