Painting an exterior foundation costs $200 to $1,100 on average. Concrete foundations are porous and should be sealed and primed before painting with paint formulated explicitly for concrete.
Not to mention, paint job costs can differ based on various labor and material rates across different cities and states.

Interior paint should last five to ten years. With regular light dusting and gentle cleaning, its lifespan will tend toward the latter. Addressing stains or any signs of water damage as soon as possible is key to maintaining both interior and exterior paint. If you find water damage on your exterior paint, you may want to inspect the gutters and downspouts. A yearly inspection and gutter cleaning may prevent paint damage down the road. Regular maintenance of your exterior paint should also include cleaning, touch-up painting, and trimming trees and bushes near the house to ensure proper airflow.
On the other hand, a flat paint finish will hide these imperfections. However, flat paint is more susceptible to damage. In most instances, an eggshell finish is the best option.

Painting your home is like buying a car (but hopefully not that expensive!) or buying new furniture. Not only does an awesome paint job say a lot about you, but it’s also a big investment that deserves a lot of consideration. Just like buying a car, you typically get what you pay for—so you want to consider a few factors going into it—like who the manufacturer is (the paint), who made it (the painter), and what condition it is in (the prep).
If you’re looking to paint the exterior of your home in the wintertime, people may tell you that it’s not possible. They’ll say all construction projects stop until springtime. This is a misconception! Especially in California, with low rainfall and above-freezing average temperatures all year long, it is possible to paint your house in the winter. PaintRite Pros is a Sacramento painter team that offers our clients the highest quality of workmanship every month of the year.

Awesome post! I just wanted to add a couple tips about cleaning brushes that might be helpful. If you’re painting and are coming back for second coats later the same day, you can put your brush in a ziplock bag to keep it from drying out while you’re taking a break. When cleaning your brushes, use Murphy Oil Soap, it really helps to get the paint off and is eco friendly. You can even soak brushes in it and clean them later on if you’re a giant procrastinator like I am 🙂 I love following your progress with this house and am so stoked to see the finished product! Cheers and have a great day! Alexandra February 25, 2015 Jill @ Champagne for Everyday February 25, 2015

Also known as: wood stain, staining, interior stains, exterior stains, surface stains Textured paint is paint that has texturizing material within the paint or paint that can be applied with brushes, rollers, trowels or other tools to create special effects. Textured paint effects can be used to hide flaws in walls, imperfections in surfaces, accent furniture and decor, or hide stains and damage.
For exterior staining, you really want the humidity as low as possible. Staining late morning up until mid-day is typically when the days’ humidity is lowest.
